29-08-2016

Members of the PACE - Palliative Care for Older People in care and nursing homes in Europe project were delighted to receive news on 29 August that one of the project’s Partner Leads, Professor Myrra Vernooij-Dassen has been awarded the International Psychogeriatric Association (IPA) Service to the field of Psychochogeriatrics award for demonstrating “inspiration, leadership, vision, ethics, innovation, organizational development and motivation in areas of psychogeriatrics”.

“I consider the award not as a personal prize, but a prize for collaborative achievements. Participation in high-profile EU projects like PACE very much contributes to the research profile”, said Prof. Vernooij-Dassen, principal investigator at the Nijmegen Centre for Evidence Based Practice at Radboud University, the Netherlands and director of the Nijmegen Alzheimer Centre.

The award will be presented during the opening ceremony of the IPA’s 2016 International Congress in San Francisco on 6 September.
