Nanja van Dop has a diverse academic background, including a Bachelor´s degree in Sociology (University of Amsterdam - NL), a Master´s degree in International Development Studies (International School of Humanities and Social Sciences Amsterdam – NL) and a second Master´s degree in Social Work (University of Antwerp). Her work experience includes working for a governmental programme on health care transparency of the Dutch ministry of health. Born in the Netherlands, Nanja has also lived in Peru and Sweden and moved to Belgium in 2012. In 2014 she started working at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel as a doctoral researcher at the End-of-Life Care Research Group. Her PhD research is part of the project ´Comparing the effectiveness of palliative care for elderly people in long term care facilities in Europe´ (PACE).
