How can patient navigation better support older people with cancer and their families?
The webinar will introduce NavCare-EU, a navigation programme adapted to the European context to support older people with cancer and declining health throughout their care trajectory. Specially trained navigators help patients and their families access relevant health, social care and community resources, while providing companionship and support.
During the session, we will hear about the EU Navigate project and the NavCare-EU model, experiences from its implementation across six European countries, emerging project findings, and the wider European landscape of patient navigation.
We will also explore the potential for sustainable implementation of NavCare-EU and the role that cancer leagues and other community organisations can play in supporting older people with cancer and their families.
About the project
EU Navigate is an EU-funded project investigating navigation programmes for older people with cancer and declining health. The project has adapted the Canadian NavCARE volunteer navigation programme to the European context as NavCare-EU, which is being implemented in Belgium, Ireland, Poland, the Netherlands, Portugal and Italy. EU Navigate evaluates the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of NavCare-EU, particularly in improving the quality of life and well-being of older people with cancer and their family caregivers, with the aim of supporting its sustainable implementation across Europe and beyond.
More information and registration details will follow soon.
In the meantime, please save the date in your calendars. We hope to see many of you there!
